This is spot on. The modern trans movement, as directed by Jennifer Pritzker and Pharma, bears no resemblance to the feminist and LGB movements that came before it. As you point out, it's hyper-masculine and patriarchal in ways that would never be permitted from any other group. It smuggles patriarchy into spaces where otherwise it would not be welcome.

You've also got me thinking more about gender and childhood. Gender is theater but children are engaged in fantasy and play. There is no reason to permanently fix any of that. Just let it play out. The fact that my former comrades on the left now want to sterilize children and prevent them from ever experiencing puberty and becoming adults is absolutely bonkers. It's this weird variation on Peter Pan Syndrome.

Yes, Reverse Peter Pan Syndrome-- instead of staying a kid forever, the child is prematurely becoming a medicalized adult and being a kid forNEVER. Can there be a greater injustice or crime? This is right alongside child torture, trafficking, and other forms of abuse. "Hey Big Pharma and Big Med get your filthy, profiteering, blood-stained hands off our kids." Like the opioid crisis is for adults, this is legalized pedacide (both physically [with those who commit suicide after "transition" did not solve their problems] and emotionally [those stuck in literally no-man's land] and spiritually as those who are souls in this world with all that entails have their spirits, innocence, and imaginations shredded by these predators.

Thank you, Zeus, for writing this important and courageous piece. This needs to be discussed in depth (as you did) rather than buying into the swings of mainstream narratives.

Yes, stepping out without judgment but also with conviction and one’s own story helps to take this discussion to higher ground.

And thank you for having the courage to comment. People email me privately or some simply "like" the article, which is fine and good, but I wonder if they don't want to feel the possible assault by lying-in-wait haters if they do something unapproved by "them." There is no them, in my book, only "us", and we are either a courageous and decent us, or we are cede our decisions in life to something lower and more vicious. I'll go with the higher frequency, higher road, thank you very much. If I get some hate, I will be hospitable, like FDR said, "I (will) welcome their hatred." :0)...

"Trans messaging is too sophisticated to be the work of a small sexual minority dealing with severe health issues

It appears to me that someone else is driving these messaging campaigns and the question is who?

I read it. Very incisive article by someone I respect. This is most obviously a highly funded “astroturf” (fake grass roots) effort. I can find no real constituency for it, not even the rank and file trans community. It is one thing to want help with acceptance and another to advocate violence against those who disagree. These astroturf activists are not social justice advocates but asserters of power of the few over the many.

Thank you too for your article! And isn't it interesting that the companies that are pushing these agendas are also the same who have made billions these last almost three years around the world?

'Tis not a coincidence. There is intent, either conscious of unconscious, to maximize profit, power, (and in some cases fame or celebrity), much like one reaps grain and to use whatever "fertilizing" (i.e. bullcrap) agenda to either distract or disassemble any kind of rationality or morality, because that allows the bullcrap they are pulling to go on without interruption (my apologies to actual bulls.. "I am not anti-ruminant!"-- PC joke there). That is why resistance and becoming "ungovernable" (i.e.ungullible, non-credulous) becomes very important for our own evolution as a species and to weed out the nefarious players, by cutting off their metaphorical sugar source.

YES! THIS! ALL. OF. THIS! THANK YOU!!! From the importance of imaginative play in childhood development, to allowing adolescents the time & space to figure out who they are, to Robert Jensen's contrast of transgenderism (changing the individual) vs radical feminism (changing the system). And so much more. Brilliant!!

Corporate-sponsored trans-activists are like corporate sponsored neo-liberals and neo-conservatives. They NEVER want to change the pie, only slice and dice it into various categories and let you move between them... Coke OR Pepsi, Hertz OR Avis, Jif or, ahem, Peter Pan, "tastes great, less filling!" It is callow manipulation meant to keep the system not only in place but as the only IMAGINABLE world. By allowing children imagination instead of forcing them into these pie slices of exploitation and commercialism, we open the possibility that our originality, spirit, and creativity become more important than our consumption. peddled "dreams", and the "giant sucking sound" near your wallet. As I say, "Be a positive subversive." Toby Rogers: "Rebel warriors". El Gato Malo "Become ungovernable." It is time for sovereignty to find its legs and stride into the future hand in hand with a child's imagination!

Thank you for your encouragement. It can get a little lonely and precarious stepping out, but we have to do it. Our kids depend upon it. One voice, then two, then a small band, and then a swelling chorus. "This will not stand!" We will make sure of this by raising our voices, hearts, hands in humane and human solidarity.. The machine will not win. The human spirit will triumph.
